What We Believe
We believe in one God, the creator and Lord of the world; that He is, always was, and always will be. We believe that God is one, but reveals Himself through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is just and loving, and in active pursuit of a relationship with His people, us! Just like in our relationships with people, talking with God is an important part of knowing Him. God actually hears us when we talk to Him, and what we pray actually changes things!
We believe that God has a purpose and a plan for all of us which is made known to us through The Bible. The most important part of that plan is to love God above all else and to love other people more than yourself.
(Isaiah 44:6, Genesis 1, 1 Chronicles 29:11-12, Revelation 1:8, 1 Corinthians 8:6, John 1:1-3;14, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 5:8, Psalm 145:9, Matthew 22:37-39)
We Believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that He is who He said he is; God in the flesh, the only way back into relationship with God, The Savior, risen from death, coming back to completely restore the earth.
We believe that His death and resurrection changed everything; rather than working to be good enough for God, Jesus offers grace and forgiveness for us no matter where we’re at or where we’ve been. He died the death we all deserved and offers us full life in exchange.
(John 1:18, John 14:6-7, Matthew 1:21, Luke 19:10, Luke 24:1-7, Revelation 1:7; 21:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
On The Holy Spirit:
We believe that The Holy Spirit is given to everyone who accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior for the building up of the Church. The Holy Spirit offers power and the ability to do things we couldn’t do on our own. We believe that The Holy Spirit still gives gifts to believers that empower them to do the same things Jesus’ followers did in The Bible.
We believe that the life Jesus calls us to live is only possible through the renewing and empowering of the Holy Spirit who is our helper.
(Acts 2:38-39, Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4, John 14:16-17, John 15:26,
On the Bible:
We believe that The Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are the completely true and only word of God. The Bible was written by people but inspired by God and is without error in all that it affirms.
We believe that the Bible is all God’s story, from beginning to end; portraying His plan for the world, and the fall and redemption of His people.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Isaiah 55:11)
On the Church:
We believe that The Church is people, not a building. Everyone who follows Jesus is part of the Church, also known as The Body of Christ. The Church exists to worship Jesus alongside other believers, to grow in faith through teaching and discipleship, to live selflessly in the context of community, and to share Jesus’ love with those not yet in The Church.
We believe that life works better when lived closely with other Jesus followers. Life is not always easy but it is so much better when lived with people who will mourn when you mourn and rejoice when you rejoice!
(1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 27, Ephesians 4:15-16, Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 12:25-26)
